STANDARDIZE OR DIE: A Reconfigurable ecosystem for Tailor-Made Mobility

Turin / Munich, September 5, 2025 — One year after the launch of TUC.tiny™, the miniaturized prototype that kicked off the race toward modular architecture miniaturization, TUC.technology today takes a decisive step toward industrializing its vision.

During the global live-streamed event titled "STANDARDIZE OR DIE," the Turin-based deep-tech company unveiled a fully operational ecosystem—spanning hardware, software, and architecture—capable of transforming vehicles and environments into flexible, reconfigurable, and upgradeable platforms.

Founded in 2018 and holding a series of industrial invention patents granted in over 140 countries, TUC.technology showcased two key components at the IAA Munich that are already ready for industrial integration: TUC.micro™, a universal miniaturized connector, and TUC.brain™, an intelligent zonal control unit.

"Today, we can build a car the way we build an operating system: choosing what to integrate, where, and when. TUC.technology is the first physical language that unites mechanics and digital. It’s like having the LEGO® of mobility—but real, connected, and intelligent," said Ludovico Campana, Founder & CEO of TUC.technology

"Today we are presenting a real system that allows automakers to standardize component modularity while providing maximum flexibility to end users. STANDARDIZE OR DIE is not a slogan: it’s the leap from idea to infrastructure."

A Connector, a Brain, and an Operating System

TUC.micro™ is a miniaturized plug-and-play connector that integrates power, data, and mechanical locking in a single gesture. It can be installed anywhere in the vehicle—visible or hidden—and enables the secure and immediate integration of both internal and external devices.

TUC.brain™ is an intelligent ECU that powers and manages the entire system. It supports 12V / 24V / 48V architectures, CAN bus, Automotive Ethernet, and includes LTE and GNSS connectivity through the TUC.RF module.

Coordinating the entire ecosystem is TUC.OS, the proprietary system software that allows digital recognition, configuration, and updating of every module.

The TUC.system Project: A Modular Dashboard Configurable Like a Blank Canvas

During the event, the technological components were demonstrated in action within TUC.system, a real concept of a reconfigurable modular dashboard.

It is an environment that transforms on demand, where personal devices (tablets, smartphones, speakers, voice assistants) coexist seamlessly with automotive components (dashboards, driving systems, infotainment) and smart living accessories (lighting, fragrances, and more).

Each element can be installed, removed, or upgraded in seconds, with no additional wiring, thanks to the interaction between TUC.micro™, TUC.brain™, and TUC.OS.

A Modular, Scalable, and Cross-Sector Ecosystem

The TUC.technology platform is built on a single-cable infrastructure and a unified architectural approach. The system is already scalable across multiple sectors:

Automotive: passenger and commercial vehicles, micromobility.             Aerospace: satellite and space modules.

A Unique Industrial Intellectual Property

The TUC.system is protected by industrial invention patents, covering not only the connector’s design but the very concept of a plug-and-play interface with structural integration of power, data, and mechanical locking.

Any technical or morphological variant that allows a module to be connected, disconnected, or reconfigured on a platform falls under TUC’s IP coverage.

TUC is not just a connector. It is a patented infrastructure destined to become an industry standard.

An Open Model: Licensing and Interoperability

TUC.technology adopts a flexible IP licensing model:

OEMs can integrate the technology directly into their platforms, enabling modular and upgradeable vehicles. Device manufacturers can make their components compatible with the TUC standard and join the ecosystem.

The result is a shared, interoperable, secure language that remains open to customization.

Towards an Industrial Consortium: “Standardize” Like USB

TUC.technology is already collaborating with several OEMs in Europe and Asia on projects that bring the technology closer to real production.

The broader goal, however, is to create an industrial consortium that brings together supply chain actors, OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, and innovators to jointly build a shared standard for modular mobility—just as USB did for computing.

TUC is leading this initiative by launching TUC.alliance™ and inviting other players to participate.

The path to standardization has begun.

TUC at IAA Mobility 2025

Starting September 8, TUC.technology will be present at IAA Mobility 2025 (Munich) with an interactive demo featuring:

Exhibition of TUC.micro™ and TUC.brain™ technological components

Live installations of plug-and-play modules with reconfigurable zonal interiors

Software integration with OTA updates
